    The Alchemy of Great Taste is Tyler Elementary’s flagship fundraiser that offers a fun-filled casual evening of great food from local restaurants paired with a range of beers and wines geared toward all palates.     Teatro de la Luna is a local theater company that promotes Hispanic culture and fosters cross-cultural understanding between the Spanish- and English-speaking communities via Spanish-language theater and bilingual performing arts. Teatro de la Luna will perform Hansel & Gretal at Tyler on Friday, February 10th at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. All classes at the school will get to see the performance. Parents are welcome to attend. This performance of Hansel & Gretal is generously funded by the Capitol Hill Community Foundation

Tyler Dine Out Nights at Zest & Fusion Grill

Tyler Dine-Out Nights will be held at Zest American Bistro the second Monday of each month and at Fusion Grill on the last Tuesday of each month. Both restaurants are located on 8th St. SE. Happy Playground, Happy Kids

Volunteers from Kaiser Permanente, under the supervision of experienced playground painting volunteer from Greater DC Cares, started on Chapter One of a playground painting project to improve opportunities for constructive student play at Tyler. There are now four racing lanes and, for circle games, well, a circle.  Later on, we will have an opportunity to add something to or around the circle to make it more interesting, but the circle alone provides the platform for lots of fun games.  We have heard from Coach Edy…

Maintenance Day Success!

Dozens of Tyler parents and Navy volunteers turned out on Saturday to help add even more beauty to Tyler’s growing Outdoor Classroom.
