Join Tyler Elementary School for Laps around Lincoln, a jog-a-thon geared to promote fitness and healthy lifestyles in youth, that will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 24, at historic Lincoln Park. The event is open to all children in the age-range from preschool (age 3) through 5th grade.
TIME: 9:00 a.m.
WHERE: Lincoln Park, on East Capitol Street, between 11th and 13th Streets.

REGISTER: Print out a form and drop off or mail it to 1001 G Street, S.E. Washington DC 20003. [waiver form and registration fee]
FEE: Register by April 9 and pay only $4. After April 10, registration fee will be $10. Children are encouraged to seek sponsors.
RACE PACKETS: Registration station on April 24 at Lincoln Park. Tyler students will receive their packets at school on April 23.

Children may obtain sponsors who shall pledge either a lump sum or a dollar amount per lap around the concrete sidewalk in the sunken portion of Lincoln Park. For safety, the children will be separated by age into 3 groups. Each group will have 30 minutes to jog around the circle. Parents or guardians are expected to accompany and supervise their children for the duration of the event and discourage any unsafe behavior.
Proceeds will support the sports and healthy lifestyle programs at Tyler Elementary School such as Playworks, participation in Local Flavor Week, aftercare cooking program and other projects to provide a structured and healthy learning environment for students at Tyler.
Balls or Frisbees will be made available for children to play in the park prior to and after their turn to jog.
Oranges, bananas and water will be distributed free to participants.
Registered Tyler students will enjoy a dress-down day on April 16, and receive reminder bracelets which they are encouraged to wear the following week to school.
Dates to Remember:
- March 16 Registration Opens. $4 fee per child.
- April 9 Registration Fee increases to $10 per child.
- April 16 Dress-down day and reminder bracelets for Tyler students.
- April 23 Bibs and t-shirts will be distributed in school to Tyler students.
Non-Tyler students can pick up their packets on race day. - April 24 9 a.m. Jog-a-thon! Plan to arrive by 8:30 please!
